About IQ Arion

IQ Arion is a small, independent project made by Ulaş in Türkiye.

Why IQ Arion exists

Most online IQ tests fall into one of two traps. Some promise a “certified IQ” that a few minutes of puzzles cannot deliver. Others let you solve every question and then hide the result behind a subscription you did not expect.

IQ Arion tries to do the opposite:

• A test built to measure. The test in the app is adaptive: it picks each question to fit your answers so far and stops once the margin of error is small enough. Every question is generated by a program from clear rules and checked automatically to have exactly one correct answer.
• Honest results. You get an estimated score on the IQ scale, always with a confidence interval, and we say openly that our norms are preliminary at first. How it all works, and where its limits are, is explained on the page about how scoring works.
• A reason to come back. Duels, a daily puzzle and leaderboards turn a single moment of curiosity into a game. The puzzles need no language, so people everywhere play on equal terms.
• Careful writing. Our blog explains research on intelligence, memory and reasoning. We read the original studies and say clearly what they do and do not show.

How IQ Arion is financed

The app shows no ads – that is a principle, not a phase. And it is free to play, with one optional purchase – the result unlock: the test, duels, the daily puzzle and the leaderboards cost nothing.

Taking the test is free, too. To see your result and certificate, you choose one of two ways:

1. Invite a friend to take the test. As soon as they finish the test in the IQ Arion app, your result unlocks, at no cost.
2. Or unlock it with an in-app purchase through the App Store or Google Play.

So every unlock brings either a new player or a small payment, and that is how IQ Arion pays for its servers. Paying never buys an advantage: a certificate does not move you up a leaderboard, and duels are decided by skill alone. We may add optional extras later; if we do, we will describe them here first.

The website sells nothing and shows no ads. Its job is to let you try the puzzles for free, to explain the science behind them – and to let you take the full IQ test in your browser – its result opens in the app.

What we will not do

• Claim that our test is official, clinical or equivalent to any standardised test.
• Show invented numbers such as “a million people took this test”. We only publish figures that come from real data.
• Use language that puts people down, or headlines like “Are you a genius?”.
• Sell advantages in duels or rankings, show ads or sell your data.

How we use AI

AI helps in three places, and we say so openly:

• Profile text. When your result is unlocked, Claude (an AI model by Anthropic) writes a short profile text. For this it receives only anonymous values – never your name, email or nickname – and it does not change your score.
• Arion AI. When no opponent at your level is online, you can play a duel against Arion AI. It is always labelled as AI. It is not a chatbot but our own puzzle solver, which answers at a human-like pace.
• Blog. An AI research assistant drafts articles from the original studies; every claim is checked against its source, and anything a check flags waits for an editor – see our editorial principles.

Your score itself is never decided by AI. It comes from a fixed measurement model.
