Terms of use

These terms apply to the IQ Arion website and the IQ Arion app (“IQ Arion”), operated by Ulaş İşibol (“we”). By using IQ Arion you agree to them. For the app, these terms are the end-user licence agreement (EULA). If you downloaded the app from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.

1. What IQ Arion is – and is not

IQ Arion offers a reasoning test, duels, daily puzzles, daily training and an AI coach. The test gives an estimated score on the IQ scale with a confidence interval. The results are not a medical, psychological, educational or professional assessment. They must not be used to make medical, psychological, educational or hiring decisions.

IQ Arion is not equivalent to, endorsed by or affiliated with any standardised intelligence test or any organisation that administers such tests.

2. Who may use IQ Arion

You must be at least 13 years old. In countries where the law requires a parent’s consent at your age – in the EU and EEA, below the national age of digital consent, which is between 13 and 16 – a parent or guardian must approve your account. Until then, duels, leaderboards, cups and your public profile stay closed, but you can take the test and play the daily puzzle. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you may use IQ Arion only with the permission of a parent or guardian.

3. Your account

• You sign in with Apple, Google or a one-time code sent to your email. Keep access to these accounts safe: you are responsible for what happens in your IQ Arion account.
• One person, one account. Do not create accounts for other people or several accounts for yourself.
• Your nickname must not be offensive, impersonate anyone or contain personal data such as your full name or phone number. We check nicknames automatically and may reject them.
• You can delete your account at any time (section 11).

4. The test and certificates

• Your first complete test counts as your first attempt and main result. A retest is possible after six months and is labelled as such.
• Take the test on your own, without help from other people, tools or AI. We record response times and whether you leave the app or page during the test. Tests with unusual patterns may be excluded from the IQ leaderboard and from counting towards an invite.
• A certificate documents an estimated score on the IQ scale, its confidence interval, the norm version and the attempt number. It is not an official or clinical certificate.
• While our norms are in their beta period, scores may be recalculated once; certificates are then updated free of charge. The verification link always shows the current version.
• We may withdraw a certificate if a test was clearly manipulated. A withdrawn certificate is shown as invalid on the verification page.

5. Unlocking your result

Taking the test is free. You can unlock your result and certificate in one of these ways:

• By invitation (free). You share an invite link. Your result unlocks when the invited person accepts your invite in the IQ Arion app and completes the test there on their own, from a different device and account than yours. Each invite can be used once, and each person can redeem only one invite. We may refuse invites that look like abuse, for example several accounts run by the same person. This is optional and free: nobody is required to install the app or take the test for you, nothing is ever given for ratings or reviews, and you can always unlock your result with a purchase instead.
• By in-app purchase. You buy the unlock for one test’s result in the app, through the App Store or Google Play. The price is shown in the app before you buy.
• With Arion+. Once your first paid Arion+ period has started, your results unlock (section 6). The 7-day free trial does not unlock test results; during the trial you can wait for the paid period or buy the one-time result unlock.

6. Purchases and refunds

• Payment is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their terms.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies; please request them there. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
• A result-unlock purchase unlocks the result of one test and stays linked to your IQ Arion account.
• If a result-unlock purchase is refunded, the unlock it gave is withdrawn and the certificate of that test becomes invalid.
• Right of withdrawal. Before the store button, the app asks you to agree that digital content (a result unlock, Arion+ benefits) is supplied immediately and to acknowledge that you therefore lose your right of withdrawal (in Türkiye, Article 15(1)(ğ) of the Distance Contracts Regulation; in the EU, Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU). The in-app wording is: “By buying, you agree that the digital content is supplied immediately and acknowledge that you therefore lose your right of withdrawal. Refund requests are handled under Apple’s / Google’s rules.” Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their rules; your statutory rights as a consumer are otherwise not affected.
• Paying never gives an advantage in duels or leaderboards.

Arion+ subscription

• Arion+ is an optional subscription, offered monthly or yearly, that renews automatically. It gives up to 30 AI coach messages a day, with a fair-use cap of 400 a month (free: 3 a week), a weekly coach summary, extra streak freezes, and unlocks test results once your first paid period has started. The coach benefits apply only if you meet the coach’s minimum age (section 9). The app shows exactly what is included before you subscribe.
• Results unlocked through Arion+ stay unlocked when the subscription ends normally, for example after you cancel it or it expires. Only a refund withdraws them (see below).
• The yearly plan comes with a 7-day free trial; the monthly plan has none. The free trial does not unlock test results; during the trial you can wait for the paid period or buy the one-time result unlock. If you do not cancel during the trial, the yearly price is charged when it ends.
• The price is the one shown in the App Store or Google Play before you subscribe, including any applicable taxes.
• The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your store account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
• You manage or cancel the subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. After you cancel, Arion+ stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
• Deleting your IQ Arion account does not cancel the subscription. Cancel it in the store first.
• The right-of-withdrawal rule above also applies to Arion+: because the benefits are supplied immediately, you agree to this before buying and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected. If a subscription is refunded, the results unlocked through it are locked again and their certificates become invalid.
• Arion+ gives no advantage in ratings, Arion Points, duels or leaderboards.

The app is free to play and shows no ads. The optional purchases are the result unlock and Arion+. If we introduce further paid features, we will describe them in the app and on this page before you can buy them; anything you have already unlocked stays unlocked.

7. Duels and fair play

• Duels are played live (both players at the same time; first to 3 points, with one deciding question if it is still level after five) or asynchronously on the Ladder (up to 15 steps within 48 hours). Every question has a time limit and allows one answer. Leaving the app during a question counts as losing that question.
• In duels, your opponent sees your nickname, country, league badge and IQ result – as a ten-point range for players aged 13 to 17, and as “—” if you have no main result yet.
• Play fairly. In particular, do not:
  • use other people, tools, bots or AI to answer questions;
  • share or collect questions and answers;
  • lose on purpose, arrange results or use several accounts to collect points;
  • harass, threaten or insult other players.
• If we detect cheating or abuse, we may correct points, remove results from leaderboards, limit features or suspend accounts. You can report or block any player in the app.

Nicknames, profiles and reports: zero tolerance

• We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. This covers nicknames, display names, names on certificates and anything else other players can see, as well as harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual content, impersonation and spam.
• Nicknames and display names are filtered automatically. In the app you can report or block another player wherever their name appears – in duels, on the Ladder, on leaderboards and on their profile. Blocked players can no longer challenge you or be matched with you.
• You can also report any answer of the AI coach with “Report” under the message.
• We review reports within 24 hours. If content breaks these terms, we remove it (for example by resetting the nickname) and suspend or permanently close the account of the user who posted it. You can also write to us (section 16).

8. The AI opponent

If no human opponent at your level is found within about 20 seconds, you play against Arion AI. Arion AI is a computer opponent – our own puzzle solver – and is always clearly labelled as AI; it is never presented as a person. Duels against Arion AI count only partly towards Arion Points and do not change your skill rating.

9. AI-written content

When your result is unlocked, a short profile text is written by an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) from anonymous numbers. We instruct it carefully and check its output automatically, but AI-written text can still contain mistakes. It never contains a diagnosis, and it does not decide your score.

The AI coach. The coach is an optional chat that answers questions about your training and progress in IQ Arion. It is powered by an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) and works only after you agree, in the app, that your messages and anonymised game statistics are sent to Anthropic (see the privacy policy). You can withdraw this at any time in the settings. The coach’s minimum age is 18 if the country in your profile is in the EU/EEA, the UK or Switzerland (or if your country is unknown) and 13 everywhere else, Türkiye included; players below that age do not see the coach and cannot use it. Using the coach also requires your separate, explicit consent, given with its own checkbox, to your messages and anonymised statistics being transferred to Anthropic, PBC in the USA.

• The coach gives general training tips. Its answers are written by AI, can be wrong and are not medical, psychological or other professional advice. Do not rely on them for decisions about your health or well-being.
• It talks only about training in IQ Arion and gives a short standard reply to other topics. The number of messages is limited (free: 3 a week; Arion+: up to 30 a day, with a fair-use cap of 400 a month), and the limits may change.
• Do not write personal details about yourself or others in your messages, and do not try to make the coach produce harmful or unlawful content. We may pause the coach for accounts that misuse it.

10. Fair use of the service

Please do not:

• copy, scrape or publish the question bank, or other people’s results or certificates, in bulk;
• try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the app, the website or their servers;
• forge or alter certificates;
• use IQ Arion for anything unlawful.

11. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account) or on the account deletion page. Your personal data is then deleted as described in the privacy policy, and your certificates become invalid. Unlocked results cannot be transferred to another account. Deleting your account does not cancel an Arion+ subscription – cancel it in the App Store or Google Play first.

We may close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms. Where possible, we will tell you why beforehand.

12. Intellectual property

Questions, texts, graphics, the IQ Arion name and the logo belong to us. You may use IQ Arion for personal purposes and share your own result card, certificate or daily puzzle result, for example on social media.

13. Liability

We build IQ Arion with care, but we provide it “as is” and cannot guarantee that it is always available or free of errors. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or for decisions you make based on a result. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, for example for intent or gross negligence.

14. Changes

We may update these terms, for example when we add features. The current version is always on this page, with its date. If a change significantly affects you, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.

15. Applicable law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence still apply and are not affected by this choice of law.
